Receive Files

Scan a QR code or enter a session code, then watch files arrive one by one — each downloads automatically.

1. Connect to a sender

Scan the QR code shown on the sender’s screen.

What This Page Does

This is the receiver side of our free peer-to-peer file transfer tool. Instead of downloading from a server, files arrive directly from the sender's browser over an encrypted WebRTC connection. Scan the QR code shown on the sender's screen or type the 6-character session code they share — then files in the sender's queue stream to you one by one.

Every completed file downloads automatically. You can follow the queue status live: how many files are waiting, which one is being received right now with its progress, and which ones are already done. Nothing is stored on any server at any point.

How to Receive Files

  1. Join the session: Scan the sender's QR code with your camera (allow camera access when prompted), or switch to “Enter Code” and type the 6-character code.
  2. Stay connected: Once connected you see the sender's queue. There is nothing to click per file — transfers start and progress automatically.
  3. Track the queue: Each file shows its own status with a live progress bar, speed, and remaining time while receiving.
  4. Auto-download: When a file finishes, your browser downloads it automatically to your default downloads folder. A “Download” button lets you save it again.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to allow camera access?

Only if you scan the QR code with the camera. If you prefer not to, switch to the “Enter Code” tab and type the 6-character session code instead — no camera needed.

Do I have to accept each file?

No. Every file in the sender's queue is received automatically. If you cancel or the sender leaves, the remaining queued transfers stop and the connection closes.

Where do the downloaded files go?

Each file is saved through your browser's normal download process, so it appears in your default downloads location (this depends on your browser's settings).

Can I receive on my phone?

Yes. Open the page in any modern mobile browser, scan the QR code with the camera app or the scanner on this page, and download each file as usual.
