What the Tool Does
Our free peer-to-peer file transfer tool lets you send any file — photos, videos, documents, archives — directly from one browser to another over WebRTC. Instead of uploading your file to a server and sending a download link, the sender creates a short session code and a QR code. The receiver scans the QR code or types the 6-character code, and the file streams directly between the two devices.
Because your data never passes through our servers, there are no upload limits, no file size caps imposed by a server, and nothing stored on our infrastructure. The connection is encrypted end-to-end by the browser using DTLS, so your files remain private even while in transit.

How to Use P2P File Transfer
- Open the send page: Click the “Send File” card and choose the file you want to transfer by dragging it in or browsing your device.
- Generate a session: Click “Generate Session”. A 6-character code and a QR code appear instantly.
- Share with the receiver: Show the QR code on your screen, copy the link, or read the code aloud — on any device, even another browser.
- Receiver joins: The receiver scans the QR code with their camera or enters the code on the receive page.
- Stream the file: The receiver accepts the incoming file and the transfer starts, with live progress on both screens. The received file downloads automatically when complete.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the transfer really peer-to-peer?
Yes. The file bytes stream directly between the two browsers over a WebRTC data channel. The server only helps the two browsers find each other and exchange connection details (signaling). Your file data is never uploaded to or stored on our servers.
Is it secure?
Yes. The WebRTC connection is encrypted with DTLS, providing end-to-end encryption between the sender and receiver browsers. No one in between, including us, can read the data being transferred.
Is there a file size limit?
No server-side limit exists because the file never goes through a server. The practical limit is your device memory and the connection speed between the two parties. Even very large files (multiple GB) can be transferred if both devices handle them well.
What happens if the sender or receiver disconnects mid-transfer?
The transfer is interrupted and both sides are notified. Simply generate a new session and start again — no partial data is stored anywhere.
Which browsers are supported?
All modern browsers with WebRTC support: Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari, Opera, and most Android/iOS browsers. Older browsers without WebRTC support cannot use the tool.
Do I need both devices to be on the same network?
No. The tool works over the internet too, using STUN servers to establish the connection. Being on the same network simply makes the transfer faster.
